A Charming ebonised and highly decorative, yet practical circular wine/side table with japanned Chinoiserie decoration. The top has beautiful raised lacquer work decorated with a temple, figure, mountains, flowers, plants and birds in shades of white, green, red and blue highlighted with a gold and black ground fine artistry and gilded decoration throughout. It stands on an exquisite  pedestal of three tapered swept legs.

 

We would describe this as being in museum or country house condition - evidence of previous use, minor scuffs and lacquer loss but all the better for it, full of charm and character.
