An exceptional and rare, hexagonal, Pagoda topped hanging hall lantern of large proportions. Presumed to be estate made The elegantly decorative pagoda top is made from heavy iron and still has its original oxblood red paint, reflecting the Chinoiserie taste.
The beautiful, hexagonal frame is made from bronze and copper, with the most exquisite rosette detailing of the period.
It has the most amazing colour, tone and patina, from centuries of weather and use. With the addition of detachable hanging loop( for ease of hanging to a chain) hand forged by an estate blacksmith.
I have not seen anything like it.
A rare survivor!
A matching heavy chain, rewired with dropped light accessories can be supplied.
